Places of Interest

Enjoy unspoilt views of Loch Bracadale, the MacLeod’s Tables, Tarner Island and on a good day, the Outer Isles. Fabulous coastal walks on your doorstep, ideal for beach combing/rock pooling. Local coastal walks – include Oronsay Island (tidal – please check tides). Dun Beag Broch, one of the best preserved Iron Age brochs in Scotland. There is also wildlife in abundance, regular sightings of Otters, Seals basking on the rocks at Sula Sgeir and White-tailed Sea Eagles, to name but a few.

Getting There

From the west coast of Scotland, there are 3 routes onto the island:

  • Via bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh (now toll free).
  • Via ferry from Glenelg.
  • Ferry from Mallaig to Armadale crossing (winter timetable)
  • Ferry from Mallaig to Armadale crossing (summer timetable).
